Direct Line Car Insurance, dishonest and rotten to the core...WARNING WARNING. RBS RIP OFF BANKERS?   Don't change to Direct line  Insurance as I did, they will do everything in their power to rip you off..They lied to me and ripped me off. THEY STILL HAVE RIPPED ME OFF 3 MONTHS LATER. AUGUST 2010.   Keep away from them if you do not want to be fleeced and cheated out of your No Claim Discount. ( NCD ).   What they do to cheat you is behave like any other insurance company until you join them. Then ask for proof of No Claims Discount in the form of TYPED letter headed confirmation from the previous insurance company knowing you will almost certainly not be able to provide that.  I sent them three letters from MMA Insurance who previously insured me, but as they were not on the letter head paper but on pre printed computerised forms that almost all Insurance companies  send you they refused to allow my NCD.  They also wanted a renewal notice, what idiots,  I was not going to renew with MMA as I had cancelled my policy and moved to the crooks at DIRECT LINE.  They know that you cannot produce that too so they deliberately set their sytem up to cheat us out of our earned NCD .    I sent them confirmation from MMA my previous Insurer and a letter from Graham Sykes my broker who I have used for over 10 years and yet they still wanted more evidence. So MMA emailed me a PDF file so I could forward it to Direct Line, Direct Line refused to give me an emaqil address to do that so I had to print this off and send them it by snail mail.  The did  not accept this either...They know its almost impossible these days to get letter headed confirmation from the Insurer directly so that can scam us out of our discount.  Direct Line have robbed me, I have had to cancel the policy I took out with them 6 weeks after it began  because they were going to refuse my NCD and over the next few years it would have cost me over ten thousand pound.   WARNING WARNING WARNING   DIRECTLINE DIRECT LINE INSURANCE ARE CROOKS.     I expect they will still try and steal more money from me because I expect them to threaten me into paying more money to them even though I have cancelled the policy today  12 July 2010.  Now today August 9th 2010 I have a letter from Direct Line saying they never allow emails because their computers are at risk from viruses. They never allow No Claims Discount unless your very lucky to have previously been with a Royal Bank of Scotland group company where they are allowed to check NCD, they say the dta protection act prevents them checking otherwise.   So what they are saying is they pretend to be a normal great insurance company but in reality they are scammers who just want to hook you into them and hope you do not mind if they do not allow your earned NCD and will pay over the ods for your car insurance. To me that is the action of criminals and I am reporting them to the insurance ombudsman.   TAKE MY ADVICE.... KEEP AWAY FROM DIRECT LINE and ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND WHO OWN AND CONTROL DIRECT LINE....             They tell you lies.
