Everywhere you go, people try to sign you up to
Direct Debit. They
say its a quick and easy way to pay. No hassle, just all positive. Sign up to Direct Debits for everything. Its true, it is easy, it is quick but unless your one of the very fortunate people
in the UK who maintain large
positive bank balances you could end up in serious dept.
My Local Council Central Bedfordshire push at every oportunity to get council tax payers into the Direct Debit
system. They sing its praises but
NEVER EVER WARN YOU that unless you are able to maintain a positive bank balance, your bank will rob you with extortionate penalty charges. As much as £60 per item of
Direct Debit where your balance on
the due date was not enough to meet the automatic Direct Debit payment. Imagine you were stupid enough to have 10 Direct Debits going out, Your bank could steal £600 from
you next pay check.
David Cameron
wants a Big Society, what we get is a Big Rip Off that can hardly be described as a society. We are fleeced when ever the banks get a chance. All your money
can be stolen from you. If you are someone who does not have at least a thousand or so pounds left spare in your account at the end of every month, cancel your Direct Debits
now. Switch to cash or cheque bill payments now. At least if you use cheques you know if the more is there to cover it before
you send it.
These
people at the Council and at thousands of other places all over the UK do not give a damn about us.. The Rich can afford not
to get the penalties and the poor lose their homes and often their whole wage packets to the greed of the Bankers.... WE MUST
HAVE a WARNING on every Direct Debit application form spelling out the dangers to the millions of ordinary working people
that DIRECT DEBITS are NOT Suitable for everyone and never for the poor workers who cannot keep the balance of their accounts
at abot £1000.
